Fieldbook & Co

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Fieldbook & Co is a private journal for lawful country sports. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Fieldbook & Co app (version 1).

The short version: your book stays on your device. We do not collect, receive, store or sell your information. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Who we are

Fieldbook & Co is responsible for this app and this website.

What the app keeps, and where

Everything you enter is saved in the app's storage on your device only. That includes:

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you.

Device backups. If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include the app's data, under your Apple account and Apple's own privacy terms. We have no access to it.

Permissions the app asks for

Each permission is optional and is only requested when you use a feature that needs it.

PermissionWhyWhat happens to it
CameraTo take a photograph for an entryStays on your device
Photo libraryTo attach an existing picture to an entryStays on your device

Where a map is shown, it is displayed using Apple Maps, and Apple may process the map area requested under Apple's privacy policy.

Things you choose to share

The app only sends information off your device when you tap to do so:

Once shared, that copy is handled by the app or person you sent it to.

Explore directory

In version 1 the Explore directory does not connect to any server and contains no live listings. Listings you view are remembered on your device only, as “Recently viewed”.

This website

fieldbookandco.com uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and loads no third-party fonts. Like any website, it is served through a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes standard technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver pages securely.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Because we do not hold any personal data about you from this app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or erase. You control your data directly: edit or delete entries in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored by it. You can contact us with any question, and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

What will change

Later versions may add optional features such as accounts (Sign in with Apple), sharing with friends and a live Explore directory. Those features will need some data to be held on a server, for example your account identifier and what you choose to share. Before any of that is released we will update this policy, explain the lawful basis, the processors we use and where data is stored, and such features will be opt-in. Your existing book will remain on your device unless you choose otherwise.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above.
